Something About Us (8-bit Remix) by Dj CUTMAN
One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite albums, mixed into juicy 8-bit goodness. If you like this then try checking out Daft Punk’s greatest album or a nice little chiptune album called 2008 by She, the Chiptune Superstar track is the best.
An interesting point from Derek Sivers of CD Baby fame. No more yes. It’s either HELL YEAH! or no. I read his book Anything You Want and this was the tip that struck a chord with me most of all.
I have been testing this theory out by reviewing my choices after I made them and applying this rule compared to the outcome. I wasn’t very enthusiastic about a recent holiday when the option came up and if I had taken this advice then I probably wouldn’t have gone.
The takeaway from this is to say no to commitments and items you aren’t saying hell yeah to, but do the ones that are outside of your comfort zone. That is where the interesting things happen.
Rainwave is a radio network dedicated entirely to video game music. That is all they play. They have a few different channels, my favourites are the Overclocked Remix and Game channels. If you sign up for an account then you can request tracks too/
Fastfall (Dustforce OST) by Lifeformed.
I have always had a bit of a soft spot for independent video games. They usually have a lot of personality and a feeling that someone has put all of their effort into them. I don’t have the ability to play dustforce yet but I found the soundtrack through a tweet by Danny Baranowsky. I picked it up from their Bandcamp page and listened to it continuously for the next two days.
The song above is one of the reasons I continue to buy these games. The soundtracks are usually fantastic and this one is exceptionally so. The whole album continues along the same vein as this track but it never lets up in terms of quality. If you are looking for something good to listen to then try it on Bandcamp and you will see what I mean.
